The future. Final exams. Your roommate. Debt. Moving away from your family for the just because. These and other issues can emotionally overwhelm students with stress, making their lives troubled and causing them to crash and burn in their classes, which happens a lot more often than you would imagine.

Most colleges and universities are alert of the prevalence of stress among students and add to the conversation by providing a range of prevention options and ways to obtain treatment, including counseling, educational courses, and therapy sessions.

In addition to going to the school administration for help, students can also do little things in their daily lives to fight stress on their own. Getting sufficient sleep, for instance, goes a long way toward battling stress, and yet is something that countless college students simply don’t prioritize. Sleep, exercise, and diet not only alleviate stress, but they also add to better physical health — the combination of which can make the difference between academic failure and success.
